OUR STORY
Indiansprings was founded by Mr. and Mrs. Raghavendra. The sole intention behind starting Indiansprings has been the passion to share with the world, the healthy green tea blends which, he, along with his family and friends have enjoyed for years.
He has always been passionate about traditional medicines and agriculture – a quality one could attribute to his upbringing in a village near Chitradurga, Karnataka. Later in life, his work took him closer to nature when he started working with the Karnataka Forest Department. The interest in traditional medicine peaked when he retired and started formally studying diabetic management to understand the use of different herbs and extracts in aiding the process of building better metabolism against diabetes and other diseases. The studies and research resulted in learning a great deal about medicinal herbs and its diabetes curing properties.
One such herb was Stevia - a zero calorie sweet herb that helps controlling blood sugar, blood pressure, reduces bad cholesterol, prevents heart diseases and tooth decays - all of this while also making the beverage naturally sweet! In a series of Clinical trial and experiments, he tried adding stevia to everyday food and drinks. It didn’t seem to work well always because of the herb’s liquorice-like aftertaste. During the same time, India was opening up to green tea. It was becoming a common name in every household and workplace. With TV ads trumpeting the tea’s weight loss properties, the nation was taking to it in spite of its unfamiliar, bitter taste. Raghavendra, being a tea lover, knew that the benefits of green tea go beyond the claims of weight loss but his family hadn’t taken to the tea yet. This is when he tried using stevia extract along with other Indian herbs and spices to alter the otherwise unfamiliar taste of green tea.
The result was green tea, crafted for the Indian palate. The tea was a hit among friends and family. Over the years, more herbs were added, the blends were perfected and the teas were made more wholesome and healthy.
Like this, Indian Springs was born.
Indian Springs, today, has 6 different flavors of tea, each of them handcrafted and blended to perfection to suit the Indian Palette. Indian Springs doesn’t stop at teas, it has a range of healthy extracts that one can make part of their daily lives to fight diseases like diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, common cold and even dengue.
